This reminds me of...

my childhood. Or at least, younger days.

I'm may only be a teenager now, but still.

It's 1:42 AM now, and I love the staying up.

Didn't we all love staying up really, really late? I'm doing it again now, and it's nostalgic.

I looked up an old song from when I was a kid. She Couldn't Change Me, by Montgomery Gentry.
My parents and I had an old country CD that was pretty much all we listened to when I was a kid- I only really started listening to music in ninth grade- and this was one of my favorite songs from that.

I still remember the words.

I feel kind of like when I looked up the old Pokemon theme songs (from the BEGINNING seasons, the REALLYFREAKINGGOODONES) and I still remembered those words, too. From five to eight years ago...

I feel like Sky Chord ~ Otona Ni Naru something by Tsuji Shion is kind of like my song.
I'll parse out the lyrics in another post, but here's a bit of the chorus:

I know for sure there are things more precious than growing up.
I know for sure that those will remain unfindable (>.< ick. a bit wordy.) and I'll still be growing up along the way.

And then part of the second verse:

I always wanted to stay awake until the morning/back in the time when I was an impatient kid.

So. Yeah.

Sky Chord by Tsuji Shion, AKA JAPANESE!

Mmmmmmmmmmm.......... I love Japanese!

So I'm going to parse out some lyrics just for you Kidding. It's for me too.

HERE WE GO!

Sunao na uta ga utaenai
I can't sing an honest song.
Kazaritsukete shimau kara
Because I always end up sugar-coating it.
Itsukara konna ni raku ni jibun
Since when have I been able to
Mamorukoto wo oboeta no.
protect myself so easily?
Kotei kara mieru sora
You can see the sky above the schoolyard-
Kimi ni wa nani iro ni utsuru?
What color catches your eye?
Tada masshiro na kumo - demo, tokini
There're only pure-white clouds - but sometimes
Makkuro ni kaetaku naru
I just want them to turn pure-black.

That's the first stanza of it. I was planning to color-code them all (English translation and Japanese word the same color), but I figured that instead of destroying your eyes I'd put a glossary of sorts at the bottom.

Uta (oo-tah, long a sound) - song
Sunao (soo-nah-oh, long a sound on the 'nah') - honest
Kumo (koo-moh, long o then short o) - clouds (in this context. In other contexts, kumo also means spider.)
Kotei (koh-tay-ee, short o sound, then try to say 'eh' on the 'te') - schoolyard
Sora (so-rah, long a on the rah) - sky
Tada (like you'd think, except a little less harshly) - just/only. [It's just my cousin, it's only my cousin.]
Shiro (she-roh) - white
Masshiro (mah-she-roh) - adding the suffix 'ma' [and the tsu character] makes it pure white
Kuro (koo-roh) - black
Makkuro (mah-koo-roh) - pure black. Same as with shiro and masshiro.

Those are the random nouns.

Sorry...

Okay, this isn't fair.
I've been telling myself and telling myself that I'll be posting more often, but I think now is going to be when it starts.
NOTE: From here on out the topics are going to be so diverse (ranging from my life [and problems, of course. What else is an online journal for? ^^ ] to me raving about Japan and Japanese [total Japanophile here. Explanation later.] to possible reviews and such things) that they may possibly give you whiplash.
Don't say I didn't warn you!
