Our government is supposed to be secular, hello.
Please don't rave at me about Christianity and how it is the one true right way and that you BELIEVE in Him and all, because I am tolerant now and am trying to get my views straightened out.
As it is, I think that blogging is a MUCH more effective way of wast-I mean spending my time at the laptop, rather than going on Facebook or whatever. Although I must admit I have a bad weakness for the CAPSLOCK_BLEACH macros that they put out every Thursday. Ah, LiveJournal, what would we do without you? (probably end up on tumblr or xanga or something, right?)
There, isn't that a great haiku?
In case it's hard to read:
Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator
and it's on a background of a [coughstereotypicalcough] beautiful [I still love them!] sakura (or cherryblossom) tree, with...a refriDgerator. Smiling a ' :D ' face and running.
As a note (a nod to my slightly OCD style), the correct plural form of haiku is still haiku.
Japanese nouns in general don't change from singular to plural.
(In a few specific cases such as pronouns [ or what passes for a pronoun in Japanese... ] it occasionally does change, such as changing boku (or I) to bokura (or we) by adding the -ra.)
Examples: kumo means cloud or clouds.
You have to tell by context in almost everything Japanese (although really, with clouds it's pretty safe to assume that 99.9997% of the time it'll be plural. I haven't yet come across anything with a single cloud yet in any language, except perhaps saying 'OH LOOK, A HEART IN THE SKY'.)
So, yeah, there's today's lesson on Japanese!
Updates:
I still have not taken Driver's Ed. I do not think I will have time to take it this year...so probably next summer -.-
Next school year, I will be officially embarking on the International Baccalaureate Program, which means that I will be taking: SIX IB courses, which are equivalent to AP courses hopped up on coffee and steriods (Disclaimer: Not my metaphor.), at least one AP course, and depending on whether I get into a club, either an entire period dedicated to studying for that club or another AP course.
As of now, my schedule stands as:
IB English III
IB Precalculus*
IB Physics I*
IB US History
IB French IV
IB Computer Science
AP Economics / either a club-study-course or AP Psychology
Isn't it wonderful?
(* The star: IB does not do introduction courses. As in, they will not and do not offer the first year on any subject. As it is, instead of a 5.0 weighted scale for the first years of Calc. and Phys., I get a 4.5, but I'm still classified as an IB student.)
Joy!
And the weirdest part about it?
I'm really, really happy about this.
By the way:
I just got back from a program called NSLC (National Student Leadership Conference) at UC Berkeley (so freaking amazing), and it changed my life.
I wouldn't really think twice about calling that experience the best ten days of my life.
So if you're thinking about it and can afford to go and all (and even if you can't, they have scholarships.), GO. It'll change your life if you take it seriously. GO.
I loved it.
I've dubbed this the Summer of Reform for myself, and this summer I intend to do everything that I had planned.
1. two online courses: PE Individual and PE Team Sports. I know, I know...it's so freaking lame that I couldn't fit PHYSICAL EDUCATION into my schedule, but hey: I'm in freaking IB. I'm glad I got to stick with BAND my freshman year!
2. studying for ACDEC: Academic Decathlon, which is TEN SUBJECTS that I need to know METICULOUSLY and BY FREAKING-PERFECTLY HEART to have a change of making the team, upon which I will then be called upon to USE this knowledge in COMPETITIONS.
Yeah.
3. AND I WILL GET THIS FRAKKING DONE: writing my novel. Yes, you see that right.
4. LOL there isn't any point to adding more ;D
5. WAIT YES THERE IS volunteering at places.
SO YES THAT IS MY LIFE :D
THE HEART.
